RATHER THAN UNDERSTANDING THE WORKPLACE AS A TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN ENVIRONMENT, THE PROJECT PROPOSES A MORE HUMAN AND BIOPHILIC MODEL.
The office is designed as a flexible system capable of responding to future needs through an open plan and a series of programmatic elements that allow multiple configurations. A stepped seating area becomes a key spatial device, transforming the office into a setting for artistic expression, audiovisual projection, training sessions, lectures, and collective discussion.
The design is structured through a layered biophilic strategy. The first layer brings vegetation directly into the workspaces, supported by natural light and ventilation. The second layer introduces an internal green wall. The third layer connects the interior with the central and rear gardens through large openings. The final layer is a vegetated rooftop, conceived as a living skin that absorbs heat, captures carbon, releases oxygen, and extends nature into the urban fabric.
Set within a 90-year-old building in San José, the project also restores and reactivates an existing piece of the city. The intervention values the beauty of the original architecture while introducing sober materials, natural textures, and contemporary spatial strategies. Together, these decisions create a workplace where heritage, nature, flexibility, and urban regeneration operate as one integrated vision for the future.
